Bell Schedules

Learn how to define your school's various bell schedules. This crucial setup will define the accuracy of all your scanning from here on. If bell schedules change from time to time, return here to make the changes.

Getting there: Periods.

Under the Settings icon, look for the fourth item on the sub-menu - Bell Schedules.

Notice there are two page tabs labeled Periods and Schedules.

  1. Periods is the default view. Here you enter or edit your timetable for the day.
  2. Schedules. See the next step.
  3. Choose your schedule. Here the NORMAL bell schedule is displayed. To see other schedules, change this dropdown.
  4. + Period. Click the button to add a new Period.

COVID-19 CHANGES
It is now possible to enter overlapping period times to give you the option to offset the movement of students around the school. For instance, you could have period 1A run from 8:00AM to 8:40 AM. But period 1B starts at 8:20AM and runs through 9:00AM. If this offset is applied throughout the day you will only ever have HALF of the total number of students changing classrooms at any one time, thereby better enabling social distancing.

BE VERY CAREFUL to add the times in correct chronological order. Pay attention to AM and PM, especially when periods span midday.

Do not enter the word Period or Per in column 1. This will only create layout problems in other parts of the system. The program will supply the words Period or Per wherever necessary

5. Delete. We suggest you mostly EDIT periods rather than delete them. But of course you will have to delete any redundant periods you may have created.
6. Edit. Click here to edit the times of the periods.

NOTE. Leave time spaces for passing periods. Periods may also have names - Home Room, etc.

If your school has block periods that alternate from day to day, name each bell schedule carefully in a way that is meaningful to your school.

MAKE SURE THAT ALL POSSIBLE BELL SCHEDULES ARE DEFINED, BECAUSE AT THE START OF EACH DAY YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELECT THAT DAY'S SCHEDULE.

Schedules

This image above shows the shipped Schedule names - which you may use or replace.

  1. Schedules. On this page tab all you do is enter the names of your various bell schedules
  2. The schedules are listed in this single column.
  3. + Schedules. Click the green button to add a new schedule. You will find it has a Display Sequence number. Tis controls the order of schedule names. You NORMAL schedule will come first. You least used schedules should appear at the bottom.
  4. Edit. All you can do here is fix misspellings, or change the display sequence.

DELETE. The deletion is what we call a soft delete. The information is still in the system, but made Inactive. If you delete something accidentally, just re enter it.

BIG REMINDER. Every Schedule MUST have the full set of Periods also defined or unpredicable results may occur.
