Automated Intervention Extract

Notice

This setup below must be done by the Software 4 Schools Support team. If you want to automate your interventions file back to the SFTP site you can then use that file to load into your Student Information System - SIS (ie Powerschool, Synergy, Aeries, Infinite Campus, etc...). We will only send the file nightly, the district IT team must schedule the import and configure it on their end. We are unable to support importing back into your SIS, you will need to contact your SIS vendor for additional support.

Automated Import of Students into S4S

In order to automate an export into your student information system, you will need to first automate the import of your students into our system. If you have not already set that process up, please follow this document.

Import Students into S4S

SFTP Extract

  • Extract – Once the extract is configured, you will see a new folder on your SFTP account that is titled extract.

  • discipline.csv –  The file extracted will be titled discipline.csv. This file will be extracted once a day at 11:59pm (PST). The file will only contain the current day scans.

File Structure

  • school_id –  The school ID will come from the SFTP import file. School Name will be the name that we have onfile extracted will be titled discipline.csv. This file will be extracted once a day at 11:59pm (PST). The file will only contain the current day scans.

  • school_name –  The school name will be the name that we have on record for the specific school.

  • student_id –  The student id will match the student id provided on the import file.

  • infraction –  Unless specified, the only type of infraction will be Tardy that is in the export file.

  • effective_date –  Timestamp of the scan. yyyy-mm-dd h:m:s

  • consequence –  This is the user defined consequence that is entered on the consequence field of the intervention.

  • conseq_type –  This is the system severities for consequences. The four options are WARNING, DETENTION, ADMIN VISIT and RESTRICTION.

  • period –  This is based on the Bell Schedule. At time of scan the period will automatically be assigned.
