Election Preflight
In this article, you will learn how to verify an election.
-
To verify the selection, you can select the tab for Verify Elections.
-
You can also click on the Verify Election button.
Click on the Elections button available at the top bar and select the already created election from the list. This page will give you a holistic view of the selected election.
Note: You do not have to verify an election for students to be able to vote. This is just an optional step to make sure all your settings are correct and your students can login.
System Settings
-
Here you can verify if your time zone is setup correctly, the label for your user name and password are clear and descriptive for your students and the login notes are also clear and descriptive to help students login. You can click on the Edit button next to each label to modify the settings as needed (read below for more details).
-
Review the information and click on the Next button to proceed with the next step.
The first step is to verify the System Settings.
Election Details
-
Who can vote will display the students that are eligible to vote in this election.
-
Candidates will display the number of candidates you have per position.
-
When can they vote will display the start and end date and time.
-
Have students already voted will let you know if you have any students that have already voted in this election. This is to confirm you are not reusing an old election that students have already voted in.
-
Review the information and click on the Next button to proceed with the next step.
Election Details section will verify that you have setup your election correctly.
Sample Login
-
On the top are sample students that you can use to try and login. We are not able to display the student password because it is encrypted on our server so you will have to find a sample password from the file you uploaded or ask a student to try and login on this screen. You can use the left and right arrows to view at other students.
-
On the bottom you will see a sample student login. This is an opportunity for you to test a student login and view the login screen.
This is one of the most important steps and where we find the most errors when customers are getting started with our software.
